Supernatural horror film IT has got off to a great start at the box office after months of anticipation. The Stephen King’s
novel re-adaptation in its opening weekend made a whooping 115 million dollars: the biggest opening for a horror flick
so far, a record that was previously held by Paranormal Activity 3. This report comes courtesy of Variety and The Wrap.
The film cost 35 million dollars to make and if all reports are true, then the film has made more than three times its
budget. The sequel is due for a 2019 release and given the profitability of this entry, Warner and co will be itching to
start production as soon as possible. It’s left to see if director Andy Muschietti will return to helm the part two.
